Job Description**

The Linux Applications team is responsible for a breadth of technologies which run as platforms on the Linux stack at WWT. Technologies include, but are not limited to, OS, Middleware, ADCs and Automation and Configuration platforms.

The proper candidate is a logical thinker who is capable of working in a collaborative nature. They have a passion for technology and are interested in taking on new solutions and challenges. The ideal candidate is a seasoned Administrator with at least 7 years of experience in the field.

**Job Responsibilities:**

+ Improvement of current processes and technology stack

+ End-to-end monitoring of middleware and web tier platforms for both performance and availability

+ Maintain technical documentation that supports the various systems

+ Troubleshoot complex functional and technical incidents occurring on the various applications

+ Evaluate the architecture of the various applications and make recommendations and changes that will allow the infrastructure to scale and be stable with transaction growth

+ Recommend best-practice solutions for the given technologies

+ Participate in the software deployment processes for in-house developed applications and integrations

+ Provide on-call and after hours support for production environments on a rotation basis

+ Provide technical leadership and cross-training to peers in areas of expertise

**Qualifications**

+ 7+ years of experience in IT administration, with experience in automation and configuration management

+ Strong F5 knowledge (LTM,APM,GTM)

+ Strong Linux skill set with demonstrated knowledge of the operating system commands and administrative principles

+ Prior experience working with the following: RabbitMQ, Splunk, Linux Administration, Web SSO technologies, LDAP

+ Experience with management tools like Puppet and GitHub

+ Experience with Ansible and/or Puppet are preferred.

+ Prior experience with PaaS platforms such as CloudFoundry is a plus

+ Experience with monitoring solutions for web tier technology is a plus (specific experience with Wily Introscope or Solarwinds is a strong plus).

+ Prior experience with application servers like Tomcat and JBoss is a plus

+ Proven problem-solving, change management and technical planning skills

+ Demonstrated ability to work with other administrators

+ Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills

+ A passion to learn new skills and new technology
