# Position Information
## Position Purpose
Under general supervision, assists in coaching duties for the University's NCAA Division I Women's Basketball program. Assists the Head Coach with all aspects of recruitment of athletes and training for competition.
# Job Functions
## Job Function
Assists head coach in organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competition.
Conducts recruitment of student-athletes in accordance with NCAA rules through scouting, attending tournaments, and home visits.
Oversees and coordinates one or more specified areas of a sporting discipline and/or components of a team, as appropriate to the sport being coached.
Represents the sports program to various institutional entities and externally to media, government agencies, students, parents, and the general public.
Assists in the overall coordination of the relevant sports program.
Complies with all NCAA, Conference, University, and Department of Athletics policies.

Knowledge of NCAA recruiting rules.
Knowledge of NCAA student-athlete academic eligibility requirements.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Ability to foster a cooperative environment.
Organizing and coordinating skills.
Demonstrated competitive coaching skills in area of sporting specialty.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
## Experience
One to three years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
## Education
Bachelor's Degree in a Related Administrative, Business, Liberal Arts, or Social Sciences Discipline. CPR Certified.
## Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Frequently requires standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching high and low, repetitious finger and wrist movement. Constantly requires speaking, hearing (with high acuity), seeing near and far with depth perception and color vision. Occasional exposure to high decibels of noise. Occasionally requires lifting, carrying, pulling, and pushing loads of up to 50 lbs.
